Location: Waverly, IA (Home nightly)

Position Overview

SCI Concrete & Excavating is hiring a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. You’ll operate equipment on a variety of projects including site prep, grading, underground utilities, and other dirt and excavation work. If you take pride in doing things right and being part of a crew that gets it done, we’d love to talk.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, dozers, loaders, rollers, etc.)

  • Perform site prep, trenching, underground utility work, backfill, and final grading

  • Read and follow grade stakes/laser, and plans (preferred)

  • Load/unload equipment and assist with daily maintenance checks

  • Work as part of a crew and communicate clearly with foremen and team members

  • Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and follow all safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Heavy equipment operating experience preferred (will consider motivated candidates with strong construction background)

  • CDL required OR ability to obtain a CDL in a timely manner

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork mindset

  • Experience with GPS/dozer grade control is a plus (not required)
